A King is 76 by 80 inches. A Queen is 60 by 80. Same length, sixteen extra inches of width — eight inches a side if you split them, which couples never quite do. The reason to spend into King is not prestige. It is two bodies that already lost the Queen argument, or a solo sleeper who starfish and will not apologize.
